Who Will Enjoy Walking the Wicklow Way in Ireland:
The Wicklow Way is a great walk that will suit those seeking:
- Multi-day walk on unspoilt mountain trails in rural Ireland
- Freedom to explore on your own, without the hassle of carrying your own luggage and arranging your own accommodation
- Ever landscapes that range from rolling countryside, to forest trails to scenic mountain landscapes
Why a Self-Guided Tour?
You can walk the Wicklow Way on your own without doing a self-guided tour, but it’s time consuming to find and plan your route. I walked the Wicklow Way with IrelandWays.com and loved how convenient it was. All my accommodation was booked, and luggage transfer was arranged. I was given a map and route instructions each day.
Often, my accommodation wasn’t directly on the Wicklow Way, and it would have been complicated to organize on my own, but with IrelandWays.com, they provided additional instructions, which sometimes included calling the accommodation and asking for a pickup.
I also love the flexibility that a walking self-guided tour provides. You determine how early (or late, after a few too many at the pub) you start, where and when you stop, and how often you stop, and where you stop to eat. I loved being independent, while knowing that IrelandWays.com has an emergency number I could call should anything go wrong.
