Flo arrived to the Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Carinzia seven years ago and shows no signs of leaving. Not surprisingly, Flo has become a bit of a local celebrity with hotel guests. Perhaps this is why she has been able to stay for seven years without ever paying for a night’s stay. Smart girl! I also have to admit she has impeccable taste. Located in the Nassfeld Nature area of southern Austria, the four-star hotel is home to the amazing Acquapura SPA, indoor/outdoor swimming pool and is built in a modern/natural architectural style.

I loved the views from the indoor/outdoor pool. Amazing!
The Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Carinzia is surrounded by mountains and beautiful alpine flowers in summer. It’s also very close to my new favorite summer activity, the Summer Rodelbahn, which I think every adrenalin junkie should try at least once. In winter you can walk out your door and be skiing in minutes. I only stayed for one night and didn’t want to leave. Flo is definitely living the high life!
Guests hoping to catch a glimpse of Flo, should be warned that like any celebrity, she can be hot or cold, depending on her mood. I was fortunate enough to meet her on a good day and discovered her secret weakness….belly-rubs! Unfortunately she insisted on not being photographed while in this vulnerable state. Yes Flo is a cat! But you gotta admit a pretty smart one with great taste!

Flo was agreeable to photos on the day that I met her, just not when I was giving her a belly rub.
Who’s the most interesting hotel guest you have ever met?

Haha I figured Flo was not going to be a human. Those are some beautiful views. I don’t have any fun stories of guests from my own travels, but I used to work in a hotel and met a lot of interesting folks. I don’t know who I’d say was most interesting though.
Awww, cute Laurel. I’d love to meet Flo. And what a beautiful hotel too!
