I love monkeys! I know you probably didn’t see that one coming, so forgive me for sharing a few of my favorite cute monkey pictures with you (and admitting what a huge geek I am):
Hungry monkeys at a temple in Thailand:

Ouch! Talk about a mother's love!

Young pig-tail macaques begging at a temple in Thailand.
Catching a Ride in Palau: Surrogate Dog Mother to Baby Monkey

Surrogate mothers come in all different species.
Struggling to Lose The Baby Weight in Germany at Monkey Mountain (Affenberg)

It's not easy to lose that baby weight when you eat popcorn all day long!
Gorillas at the Calgary and Toronto Zoo (note gorillas are actually apes, not monkeys, but I studied and worked with these gorillas so had to include them!)

Even better than a pillow!

Photo courtesy of the Calgary Zoo.
Now, if I could just find the picture of the Capuchin monkey getting REALLY excited over my lip chap that he stole, we’d be all set. I’ll keep looking!
This photo has been submitted as part of Travel Photo Thursday by Nancie at Budget Travelers Sandbox. and for Delicious Baby’s Photo Friday. Check out their sites for more travel photos that probably don’t include monkeys.

Very cute indeed! I love those little pig-tail macaques — don’t think I’ve ever seen them before. I’d be a little nervous around them, but I can see you’re quite comfortable.
@Cathy – The adult male pig-tail macaques could actually be aggressive, but the young ones were adorable – besides, I’d had my tetanus shot
Cute pics – I love the one of the monkey riding on the dog’s back!

@Lisa – The dog was so protective of the monkey, it was adorable and they were inseparable!
Another great post. And you worked with gorillas? How have you managed to cram all these wild adventures into your young life? I am in awe!
LOL The l’il guy riding the dog was my fav !
I loved these pictures because monkeys fascinate me too. These are so adorable especially the dog and the monkey and the gorillas.

Those photos are really cute, though I’m not too partial to monkeys myself. In some countries they can be a bit too pushy for my taste.

Monkeys can be a bit intimidating, especially where they are quite used to (and spoiled by) people. That said, I do like gorillas. And chimps. And orangutans… Oh, well, I guess I quite like monkeys, after all.

I am fascinated by gorillas. You’re so lucky you got to work with them.

Thanks so much for your comments everyone. I enjoyed hearing which ones were your favorites.
@Sonja – I was so lucky and will be volunteering with chimps next week, which I’m very excited about.
I love the one with the tiny baby . So sweet. If you want to see some monkeys from a peaceful monkey forest on Bali (including babies)… http://thisismyhappiness.com/2011/05/07/bali-the-monkey-forest/

These are so fun-I love monkeys! I love when monkeys ride on dog’s backs. haha That’s so weird, but it’s adorable. If you ever go to Phi Phi Island in Thailand, you have to go to Monkey Cove-it’s an island near Phi Phi that is inhabited by wild monkeys and you can feed them.
These are adorable photos
Thanks for your comments everyone. @Jenna – I’ll check out your link, thanks. @April – I’ve been there, loved it!
